ABOUT THE CONCEPT

This was born out of the idea of shooting somewhere with a lush, green backdrop which would eventually become our first time partnering with TinyObservations outside of the studio. The watercolor palette on the buzzcut for Aidan was our initial creative inspiration for the featured hairstyles. We hand-selected our models specifically to ensure those chosen would be open to letting us push creatively with their cut and color. The remaining concept features developed organically throughout the process.

ABOUT THE MODEL

Aidan and Al were the models for this outdoor shoot. Aidan’s hair color was inspired by a watercolor palette. We started by removing the length and cutting a low fade. After an all-over lightening of his hair, we created a five-color pastel palette to pull together the finished look. The hard lines in the hair were a spontaneous thought that we improvised before heading to the studio. Al started with a grown-out mullet that we further refined and enhanced. The goal was to maintain an alternative shape with lots of texture. For color, we knew we wanted to lean into something both bright and bold to compliment their cut and style. We landed on a vibrant yellow color that paired well with the lush bayou setting.
